We are researching to reduce the energy consumption and CO2 emission from architectures and cities. The research themes are
- Decarbonization of buildings by Cx and Ft
- Roadmap design for zero energy islands and zero energy communities
- Development of EMS using IoT and AI cameras
- Environmental assessment of architectural spaces
- Mitigation and adaptation measures for the urban heat island effect
- and so on
Our main research methods are measurement and simulation. You need to study programming(Visual Basic/Python/Fortran/etc.) and data analysis(Excel/Access/etc.) in our lab.
We work on a variety of initiatives to realize energy-efficient, comfortable, and carbon-free buildings and cities, and to build a society in which people can live safely, securely, and sustainably.
If you have any interest, please read followings.
To study in my laboratory,
- I require you to study Japanese for daily easy conversation for communication with other students even if you write master's or doctoral thesis in English.
- I require you to become a research student for at least a half year before entering master's or doctoral course.
- From April to July and from October to January, 20-minute face-to-face seminars are mandatory for all Ueno laboratory students on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday mornings at 8:30 am.
- These are the required conditions of the Ueno laboratory, and not entrance criterions of the university.
- You have a chance to become the master course, doctoral course and research student from April and October (Twice a year).
- If you want to become a research student from October, please apply in March.
- If you want to become a research student from April, please apply in September of the previous year.
- Only one or two students can be accepted in half a year. Not everyone can be accepted
